Second Wind is a two-week, summer leadership program offered to students who have completed at least
the 9th grade. High school and college students are introduced to challenges and adventures designed
to strengthen their commitment to Christ and to others, and to further develop their leadership potential.
Second Wind is about building character. It is designed to give young people an understanding of
Christian values through the process of practical application.
Application is the most important element in the understanding of any truth, principle, or skill.
Throughout the two-week experience, students are placed into "real-life situations" in order to
test and apply the things they hear. Students return home with learned principles rather than
just "more inspiration."
7 Areas of Focus:
Life Purpose
Problem Solving
Goal Setting
Relationships
Family
Spiritual Priorities
Personal Standards
The counselors at Second Wind share a deep love for the Lord and are committed to bringing about the
maturing and training of God's people. Because we feel our program is unique and challenging, we have
a limited enrollment policy. Each student is placed on a team, with staff leaders assigned to each
group. These small groups give leaders one-on-one counseling opportunities that maximize the growth
experience.
Second Wind is not beyond the reach of anyone. Because different students are at different places in
their personal development, it is our policy to allow each participant to invest at his or her own
level. The only requirement for acceptance is that each person has a desire to grow and a willingness
to give one's personal best.
