About JH Ranch
At some time or another, all of us long to get away, to look at life from a new,
fresh perspective. All around us, families are falling apart. Parents and children
share the same rooms without sharing one anothers' lives. The pressures of life get
heavier and heavier. Being young doesn't make it easier. Maybe it's even harder.
It's tempting to give in. Or give up. Or get out.
Sometimes, don't you wish you could get away - get a new way of looking at things?
There is a place to begin. A place for people who just need to rest. To laugh.
To experience the thrill and beauty of the great outdoors. But more importantly,
a place where people gain life-changing perspective. To find courage and hope.
To experience an adventure that never has to end. That place is the JH Ranch.
Bruce Johnston, Executive Director
Bruce Johnston is the founder and executive director of JH Ranch, home of Second Wind
and Father Son & Daughter Adventures. Bruce and his wife Heather have two children,
David and Mallory, and live in Birmingham, Alabama.
It takes a lot of people to keep things running smoothly at JH. Every summer,
over 100 volunteers travel from all over America to spend time working and growing
at the Ranch. The work is not easy, but as with most things of great cost, the reward
for volunteering at the JH is tremendous.
